Young At Heart: Chocolate Devil's Food Cupcakes

Are these not adorable?

And I bet they taste a million times better than those treats we used to get in our lunch boxes when we were kids (not that they weren't tasty!)

But these are actually homemade--we have a devil's food cake, whipped cream squirted into the center, and then double dipped in chocolate ganache.

And of course the thing that makes these cupcakes is the white doodles on top that remind us of 3rd grade!

I love these cupcakes, and want to make them!

Recipe? These cupcakes are gorgeous and I'm sure that they taste divine, but if I were going to make these I would take the easy way out and just use a box mix.

We cannot however use canned frosting as ganache--I think we need to make that ourselves.

And then for the squiggles--either use white frosting in a piping bag (or a plastic bag with a corner snipped), or you can buy the white writing frosting in a tube at the store.

It's just a tiny bit of work, but it's worth it, right????
