Over the past year I've been seeing an interesting development with desert trends--the idea of combining the sweet with the savory, and putting salt on chocolate to be specific.
I applaud this new approach to salty chocolate--I do enjoy giving my taste buds a little surprise and I think that the salt somehow heightens the chocolate flavor.
These chocolate chip cookies look amazing with the sea salt sprinkled on top, don't they?
They were made using the New York Times Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe that everyone is talking about (well, I've heard at least 2 or 3 folks mention it ;-) ).
The next time I make chocolate chip cookies, I'll give this recipe a go!

Sea salt on a cookie, eh? Intriguing!

Hey sweetflutterbys3,
Oy, now that's an idea! This cookie would be good medicine for those "bad mood" days :-)
Definitely a good reason to keep some around for chocolate "emergencies" such as that.
