Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie originally uploaded by Bakerella
Is it not divine? Ahhh, this photo has just lifted my spirits today!
Check it out--we have a flaky crust, a pie filled with (it looks like) millions of melted chocolate chips, then a scoop of ice cream, then warm chocolate sauce ladled on top.
SWOON!!!!
This photo is from the uber talented Bakerella, and she found the recipe in the Nestle Classic Recipes Cookbook--I want to make this one too!
Grab the recipe! Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie
This is going on my must bake list. Tonight I'm making the strawberry cupcakes...actually I'm going to do it as a cake because the men in my family seem to like that better. Fingers crossed :)

Hey Andrea,
Oy, I know--this is on my 'must bake' list too!
Good luck with the strawberry cake. I'm sure it'll be yummy! :-)

I know--I am in that mid-afternoon snacky mode and I just looked at this pic again. It's killing me! Looks so delish :-)

The cake was wonderful though next time I've convinced mom we should do it as a Bundt cake with the strawberries in the middle so they don't sink to the bottom, but it was very yummy :)

Hey Andrea--Yay!
Do you know what I've heard is a cure all for berries/chocolate chips sinking to the bottom of cakes?
Lightly coat the berries/chips in flour before adding them to the batter, then they shouldn't sink--I saw the Barefoot Contessa do that.
Yet, I think I prefer your idea of doing the bunt cake with the strawberries in the middle! That sounds adorable :-)

I've made this dessert several times and it is insanely RICH! I normally cut a pie into 8, but this could easily serve 16. You have to have either ice cream or cool whip with it too. It's SUPER rich and yummy!

Hi Starr,
Oh you made this? Yay! Thanks so much for the words-o-warning--you've saved myself and many other folks a tummy ache cuz I know I would have insisted on having a full piece AND ice cream and then regret it later.
Tiny pieces are called for with this super decadent pie--I'll remember that (and good call with the ice cream)!
