The baker / photographer of this pancake masterpiece is Esther
Brownie (oh, how I envy that name!) at the blog Consubstantial Paneity,
and didn’t she do an outstanding job with her first foray into food
porn? (audience nods in agreement).
She’s an absolute natural, cuz the second I saw this photo I immediately went “Ahhhh–for the love of Autumn!”
I have had pumpkin pancakes, but I can’t say that I’ve ever had squash pancakes though. Of course her recipe calls for winter squash (ya know–butternut, acorn and all that) roasted no less. So, it’s not your everyday pancake–these guys are special occasion flapjacks!
By all means, include the chocolate chips in the batter–it can’t get any better than that.

Very inviting photo & supper idea :)

Our local grocery store (Shop N Save) here in Western Pennsylvania made a pastry dessert called "Hungarian Rounds" and the owner retired and closed down all of his stores. They are a delicious pastry and I haven't been able to find a recipe for it. Would anyone on here know of a recipe like this. It looks like a you make up the dough, roll it out and cut in narrow strips and roll it flat (like a jelly roll but flat like a cookie) and then when it is down in the oven, you put a dab of melted chocolate in the middle of it (something like the thumbprint recipe that I'm sure everyone knows about). They put some kind of melted chocolate and powdered sugar also on the strips before they roll them into the shap of a cookie. Has anyone ever heard of this or might have the recipe for it?
Thank you.
